About Us

Yien has a background in medical science.  Before he departed from UF College of Medicine to care for his ill father, he had earned the prestigious Perkins Award with a perfect 4.0 G.P.A.  He carries that same excellence into real estate as he did in his academic past. Highly analytical and conscientious of excellence, he has distinguished himself in the real estate industry with his insights and analyses.  He continues to place a high value on education, regularly attending classes to further his own knowledge, as well as teaching classes to his peers with the belief that a higher standard of practice is a benefit to the public.  The classes Yien teaches are generally considered the most technical and difficult in the industry, including contracts, negotiations, market analysis, transaction management, and risk management.

Yien’s knowledge, ethics, and professionalism extend not just to his clients but also to the agents on the other side of every transaction.  Over the years, Yien has had the pleasure of conducting business with hundreds of real estate agents, establishing a reputation of integrity and fair dealings. His unique expertise is so highly valued by his organization that Yien serves as a consulting broker for Keller Williams Advantage II Realty.  From new licensees to seasoned top producers, Yien teaches and provides consultation to agents of all levels.  He has become known as the “Agents’ Agent.”

With a growing clientele, primarily through word-of-mouth and personal referrals, Yien quickly became limited by the 24 hours in his day. He recruited his wife Alysa from her health care profession first, then carefully hand-picked a group of like-minded real estate professionals to help him care for his growing client base.  The Yao Team was thus born.  Instead of 8 working hours a day, Yien achieved the equivalency of 56 hours each day through the right partners. Each agent and support staff on The Yao Team working as an extension of Yien, with the same tireless pursuit of exceptional customer service and duty to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

The Yao Team is a boutique operation, consisting of 5 full-time agents and support staff, bringing to the table a combined 70 years of residential real estate experience.  This close-knit group has diverse backgrounds in medical, finance, banking, hospitality, marketing, and accounting fields.  Together they put all their skills and talents into serving their clients. The Yao Team implements a unique brand of specialization, which maximizes each member’s unique skills to create a smooth, efficient transaction and an elevated experience for each client.
